Iwi Days

These days have been a really good way of building partnerships between our iwi partners  schools and ECEs.   

Over the last few years our January Teacher Only days with Muaūpoko and Ngāti Raukawa have become bigger and better. These have  been an opportunity for all teachers, who may not have been on some of our marae to have that experience and for all to learn more about the area they are educating tamariki and rangatahi in. (A chance to dispel urban myths!)

Wouldn’t it be AMAZING if every teacher in the country  could spend a T only day at the start of every year at their local marae!!! Now THAT could be the start of people really understanding partnership.

The whole experience - from the organisation, step by step explanation given to those for who it was their first time on the Marae, the beautiful Kai & entertainment. 

The stories shared and the history...it was so wonderful to hear how much history this area holds.

Stunning day of organisation. Muaūpoko achieved something quite remarkable.

Awesome opportunity to meet other like-minded teachers with whom to share knowledge and resources.
